all dogs go to heaven

*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-* HIJACKED *-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*

Kimberly has been busy moving, child-rearing and what-not.

Her blog has been all but abandoned, getting dusty in the bowels of the interweb.

Her fans are getting restless; we think she might be dead.

. . . enter sister-hijacker . . .

Dear Lord: Thank you for bringing me to Sam's house,
and not Michael Vick's. Amen.

note: This is not actually Kimberly's Sam, nor Kimberly's dog, but it kinda looks like both. And quite frankly, something just needed to be posted.

Top 40

You can tell me that the blond boy on the left is not the cutest thing you have ever seen, but I won't believe you.

(Warning, the beginning is a little shaky- no stabilizer on the iPhone!- and if you are not related to us I won't feel bad if you skip ahead to the solo at minute 4:10).

Thursday, 9:38 p.m.

Kids are still awake.

I threaten, "If I hear one more peep..."

Jack (almost interrupting me), "peep!"

They laughed themselves silly and repeated the exchange over and over for the next four minutes. I kind of want to laugh and kind of want to kill them.

True confession.

LOL

I really needed a laugh this week, and I found it yesterday in the Salt Lake Tribune:

Nothing Stolen from Lohan

A burglar alarm led police to Lindsay Lohan's house on Tuesday, where officers found evidence of a potential break-in and ransacking. Turns out, the mess belonged to Lohan, not the burglars, police said. Police determined no one entered the home and nothing was stolen.

I'm still laughing.

Peekaboo!

Peekaboo Photos, that is. I have been holding out on you by not posting these sooner. Katie did an amazing job with Gabe's newborn photos and family photos. Here are some of my favorites.

Rock-a-bye Baby

I have been feeling sentimental lately; I suppose it is having a new baby in our home. When I was growing up my mom had a saying on the wall in the baby's room that I remember and loved. I recently asked a friend to make the saying into a picture for my nursery. I wanted to make sure I had the words right so I looked it up on the internet and found that it is actually the last stanza of a longer poem. Here it is; I think you will love it as much as I do.
Happy mother's day!

Song for a Fifth Child

Mother, oh Mother, come shake out your cloth
Empty the dustpan, poison the moth,
Hang out the washing and butter the bread,
Sew on a button and make up a bed.
Where is the mother whose house is so shocking?
She's up in the nursery, blissfully rocking.

Oh, I've grown shiftless as Little Boy Blue
(lullaby, rock-a-bye, Lullaby loo).
Dishes are waiting and bills are past due
(pat-a-cake, darling, and peek-peek-a-boo).
The shopping is not done and there's nothing for stew
And out in the yard there is a hullabaloo.
But I'm playing "Kanga" and this is my "Roo."
Look! Aren't his eyes the most wonderful hue?
(lullaby, rock-a-bye, lullaby loo).

The cleaning and scrubbing will wait till tomorrow,
For children grow up, as I've learned to my sorrow.
So quiet down cobwebs. Dust go to sleep.
I'm rocking my baby and babies don't keep.

The Haircut

Before.

After.

The culprit and his victim.

Yes, that is a bag of hair.

The fix.

Who is this big kid?

Oh my!

Where has the time gone???

First, the official (very belated) announcement. Please meet Gabe Kesler, my darling third son.

He is a very sweet and mellow baby. He is still a little confused about the difference between 1-6 p.m. (when he is asleep), and 1-6 a.m. (when he wants to be awake and held). At least I get all the snuggle time I want, without interruption!

Here is Gabe, sleeping in the middle of the day.

Here are some highlights of the last 6 weeks*...

Hmmm, another little mini-me?

Meeting the big brothers, and receiving the first of a thousand smothering. I hope he survives (Seriously).

Regression, what regression?

More fun to come!

*Please note. I started this post 3 weeks ago. I'm not sure what the problem is, but I can't get anything done!!!

Pictures of Baby C!

Hi.

This is Kimberly's sister Alisa. I could see the fans were getting restless, so I have officially hijacked her blog to bring you the first [of many, I'm sure] photo installments of new Baby Boy C. Photos courtesy of our swanky Mom's iPhone. Enjoy!!

Hello there bright eyes!

Proud Momma and big brothers.

The new babe himself.

Smothering him already, just like big brothers should.

P.S. Doesn't Kimberly look awesome! Who looks that good mere hours after giving birth? Who, I ask!

Meet Spidey Sam

Sam just turned 4! His first present of the day was some Spiderman Underoos from his big brother. Catch his cool spidey-moves in the video (and sorry about the orientation and sound, I have no explanation and no tech skills).

The day was filled with activities of Sam's choice (well, and mom's). Pictures of the birthday boy. His favorite lunch spot (and not McDonalds!). Cupcakes. Bounce place. And the highlight? Having cousin Luc "Indiana Jones" join us for the celebrations! The kids bounced the afternoon away, along with Sam's little buddy, Easton.

Good times. Happy birthday to my sweet Sam!
Baby Watch 2009: 2 days to go until d-date, nothing to report. Starting to investigate labor inducing techniques. Wish me luck and stay tuned for name saga.

The Belly Shot

Sorry no blog updates, as all of my regular, witty thoughts have been drained out of my head. Apparently, all my energy is devoted to this...

Thanks to my dear friend Celeste for capturing these photos for posterity.
Only 3 weeks (or so) to go!

Who's the Boss?

My mom watches Sam, who is 3, once a week. Last week he didn't want to take a nap.

His justification?

"You're not my boss. Jesus is my boss and he said I don't have to nap."

Ha!

Pretty good negotiating skills, don't you think?

What 35 Looks Like

My birthday was a week ago Sunday, and I celebrated with an entire weekend of birthday fun. You only celebrate for one day, you say? You are missing out! Plus with a slow Sunday birthday, supplementary days are required. So here is what 35 looks like:

Saturday:
Lunch with my mom, worked in between a manicure and pedicure, and shopping!
(No picture of the lunch or shopping, but here are the pretty toes...)
A heavenly massage. (Believe me, you don't want to see a picture)
Dinner with Craig at one of my favorite restaurants, and a movie.
A day full of my favorite things (well, except my children, of course).

Sunday:
Sleep in (well, until 8- pretty good for our house).
Breakfast waffles made by Craig. Presents from Craig and kids.
(Here are the boys demonstrating the wonders of my new pillow...)

The Primary kids sang happy birthday (very cute).
Dinner and cake at parent's house, with entire Salt Lake K-family.

More presents.

(my sister Cassidy goes for the nostalgic-must-own videos)

Another cake from great friends. I'm so lucky. And pregnant so I can eat two cakes.

Monday:
Lazed around.
Lunch and movie with Craig and kids.

Sorry no pictures of Craig- he was behind the camera for once!
Completely delightful! So far, 35 doesn't seem so bad.
