What 35 Looks Like
My birthday was a week ago Sunday, and I celebrated with an entire weekend of birthday fun. You only celebrate for one day, you say? You are missing out! Plus with a slow Sunday birthday, supplementary days are required. So here is what 35 looks like:
Saturday:
Lunch with my mom, worked in between a manicure and pedicure, and shopping!
(No picture of the lunch or shopping, but here are the pretty toes...)
Dinner with Craig at one of my favorite restaurants, and a movie.
A day full of my favorite things (well, except my children, of course).
Sunday:
Sleep in (well, until 8- pretty good for our house).
Breakfast waffles made by Craig. Presents from Craig and kids.
(Here are the boys demonstrating the wonders of my new pillow...)
The Primary kids sang happy birthday (very cute).
Dinner and cake at parent's house, with entire Salt Lake K-family.
More presents.
(my sister Cassidy goes for the nostalgic-must-own videos)
Monday:
Lazed around.
Lunch and movie with Craig and kids.
Sorry no pictures of Craig- he was behind the camera for once!
Completely delightful! So far, 35 doesn't seem so bad.

My Blog Is Not Stylish
So last week, Celia's blog got a makeover, complete with a very cute signature. And now? There are signatures on almost every blog I see! It makes me (1) feel kind of out of it, blog-wise (please no jokes about how out of it I am in general), (2) want a cute signature too, and (3) think there is no way I am putting up a cute signature because I will be following everyone else, even though I really want one. So, how do I do it?
More catch-up posts are on the way- I have finally solved my camera/computer interaction problems, so I can post my pictures again. I know, you have been D.Y.I.N.G. while waiting for my updates! Patience, my pretty.

Adorable, No?
I'm not usually so timely with my posts, but this one is begging to be posted RIGHT NOW, even if it does in some way promote PETA.

SEA-KITTENS?? Seriously?
This is just strange. Laughable. Could it be a joke?

Maybe my favorite "sea kitten" fact? Contrary to popular belief, the technical term for sea kitten offspring is "baby sea kitties," not "caviar."
Don't miss the opportunity to create your own sea kitten!

Talent Runs In The Family
For your amusement, I present my multi-talented (?!?) 6-year old. Full credit goes to my sister, who not only captured the moment on video, but posted about it first.

Have You Met Paige?

This is my friend, Paige. Paige and I have been friends for 12 years or so. Wow. Today is her birthday. She does a better job of celebrating her birthday than anyone I know. She also will remind you it is her birthday if you happen to forget, which is a quality I appreciate. I (sometimes, more often than not) forget dates like birthdays, and then feel bad later when I remember and I talked to you and you didn't tell me it is your birthday. Paige is lots of fun, very funny, a great shopper, and a great friend. She also no longer thinks Uggs are Fuggly. An Ugg-convert, you might say. I wish I got to see Paige more often, but thank heavens for blogging so I get to keep up with her everyday happenings.
To celebrate Paige's birthday, I am taking down my Christmas decorations in honor of her Christmas Decorations Rule. If I was really honoring the rule, I would have had them down before today. But I am tired and feel about 15 months pregnant, so I didn't get it done. But Paige will understand because she knows rules are made to be broken when convenient. Happy birthday, Paige!

If I Sent Out Cards
You would have received one that looked sort of like this.

This year, I am grateful for new beginnings and second chances. I am thankful for a Heavenly Father that provides for me more than I deserve. I am grateful for my family and friends, all of whom I would like to see more. I hope for slower, more thoughtful time with my children and to live more thoughtfully and deliberately in general, enjoying more the journey.
I had a dream the other night. And in this dream, I called Jessica to discuss some complicated spiderman toy that had all sorts of crazy options. On the phone I told her that I was so glad we knew each other and asked her about her baby and kids and all of this stuff I know about her from her blog (since I only really know her from her blog). And she told me that she didn't really know me because I don't post. And I felt like a huge loser in my own dream! So today I post, and resolve to do better. (Although I won't tell you in advance how most of my resolutions work out). Sorry, Jessica, I don't know how you got mixed up in this.
Happy new year!
Happy New Year!
From our family to yours.
Craig, Kimberly, Jack (6), and Sam (3)
